Pola Orbis Holdings declared the formation of a new subsidiary, aimed at managing and regulating its regional operations within the burgeoning Chinese market.
In addition, POLA INC. (“POLA”) and ORBIS Inc. (“ORBIS”), which are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Company, each resolved at their respective Board of Directors meetings, held on November 20, 2023, to distribute to the Company as dividends in kind all equity interests of Shanghai POLA Trading Co., Ltd. (“POLA Shanghai”), which are held by POLA, and all equity interests of Orbis Beijing Inc. (ORBIS Beijing), which are held by ORBIS. As a result, the Company will directly hold all equity interests of POLA Shanghai and ORBIS Beijing, and there will be a transfer of the Company’s sub-subsidiaries.
Seiichi Takaya, is appointed as the Representative Director and President of the new company, taking the helm for local business oversight and strategic planning in China.
In its proclamation, Pola Orbis emphasized that this move signifies not only a boost in regional marketing efforts but also an initiative to heighten the operational efficiency of its local entities in China. This strategy is part of a broader aim to tap into China's market potential, propelling the group's expansion beyond its domestic borders. The subsidiary's inception marks a step towards accelerating Pola Orbis Holdings' global presence, with plans to broaden its operational footprint starting in 2024. By adopting a localized approach, Pola Orbis Holdings intends to navigate market dynamics, leverage its multi-brand strength, and consolidate its presence in the region as a unified entity.
