On November 18, Galenic opened "Female Power in the Scientific Community — Portrait Exhibition of Chinese and French Female Researchers" exhibition at Beijing’s National Communication Center for Science and Technology.
Organized in collaboration with the French Embassy in China, CNRS, the China Women Scientists Association, and the China Association for Science and Technology, the event celebrates the contributions of female scientists from China and France, showcasing their vital role in advancing scientific discovery.
Key attendees included Ms. Myriam Pavageau, Minister Counsellor of the French Embassy in China; Ms. Luo Hui, member of the leading Party members group and director general of the Department of International Affairs of the China Association for Science and Technology; and Ms. Christy Sun, CMO of Yasten Group and General Manager of Galenic.
First presented in 2018 by CNRS during the EuroScience Forum in Toulouse, the original Female Power in the Scientific Community exhibition paid tribute to women's achievements in research. Marking 60 years of diplomatic ties between China and France, this latest iteration now debuts in China, continuing its mission to honor the spirit of female scientific excellence.
Captured by French photographer Vincent Moncorgé, the portraits reveal the diverse career paths of leading female scientists in China and France, reflecting the universal and inclusive nature of scientific inquiry.
Cheng Jing, Chief Scientific Officer of Galenic, was featured as the exhibition’s representative chemist for her pioneering work in cellular anti-aging. With over 27 years of experience, she shared her passion for discovery, stating, “With the promise of life, we believe science is the bedrock and innovation of CELL LONGEVITY. I will continue to lead advanced research in CELL LONGEVITY, collaborating with global scientists to push the boundaries of skincare science.”
In her remarks, Ms. Myriam Pavageau expressed hopes that the exhibition would inspire future generations of female scientists and deepen Sino-French collaboration in science and technology.
Ms. Christy Sun added, “This exhibition honors the enduring friendship between China and France while celebrating the incredible impact of women scientists. Cheng Jing, as the chemist representative, not only exemplifies scientific excellence but also inspires Galenic’s ongoing innovation in skincare.”
With decades of dedication to life sciences and dermatology, Galenic continues to advance research through partnerships with renowned institutions such as CNRS, Saint-Louis Hospital, and Shanghai Ruijin Hospital. The brand also co-founded the Galenic Dermatology Research Fund to pioneer innovations in ingredient delivery and skin aging.
This year, Galenic made breakthroughs in anti-aging with its N°2 Lotion and Rejuvenating Micro-Mask. The lotion combines advanced retinol formulations with ActiveAnchor® technology for deep dermal penetration, while the mask incorporates rare iris stem cells and peptides for targeted wrinkle repair, setting new standards for CELL LONGEVITY solutions.
