Diptyque has unveiled its latest limited-edition “Orphéon” collection, paying tribute to the bohemian spirit of 1960s Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris. Inspired by a legendary jazz club where artists and intellectuals gathered, the collection reimagines an era where music, art, and creativity intertwined. To commemorate the launch, Diptyque has opened a Shanghai pop-up, “Diptyque Orphéon Club,” from March 4 to March 9.
The Orphéon Club, which inspired the collection, was a hub of creative exchange in the heart of the Latin Quarter, located beside Diptyque’s first boutique, established in 1961. It was a favorite gathering place for the brand’s three founders—painter Desmond Knox-Leet, set designer Christiane Gautrot, and artistic director Yves Coueslant—who often mingled with musicians, writers, and artists. The club’s smoky wooden interiors, the rhythm of live jazz, and the electric energy of late-night conversations have all been woven into the fragrance’s sensory narrative.
