L'Occitane Partners with Female Sailor Clarisse Crémer in Support of Women’s Empowerment
L'Occitane en Provence announced that it has named female sailor Clarisse Crémer as a brand ambassador and will be sponsoring her journey in the 2024 Vendée Globe, the prestigious solo non-stop round-the-world sailing race.
L'Occitane described the ambassadorship as more than a collaboration; it’s a meaningful connection that represents shared inspiration and values. The brand has been dedicated to supporting women’s equality and empowerment since its inception.
Clarisse’s journey as a mother, accomplished sailor, competitor, and comic book author is remarkable and deeply inspiring. Her commitment and resilience extend beyond sailing, fueled by passion and determination to push her limits and overcome challenges.
Supporting women who create positive societal impact is central to L'Occitane en Provence's mission. With her focus, drive, and passion, Clarisse is the ideal ambassador, helping the brand open a new chapter in its history. She embodies L'Occitane en Provence’s values of humility, authenticity, and a commitment to creating positive change for society and the environment.
During the race, Clarisse’s IMOCA boat will carry L'Occitane en Provence iconic colors, while the “Race for Equity” banner on the sail captures the partnership's spirit. The brand’s signature Immortelle flower, symbolizing resilience and longevity, is printed on her sail, marking their shared commitment to endurance, strength, and equality.
Clarisse Crémer commented, “Professional sailing is a career in a highly competitive world. Motherhood is relatively unaddressed concept in this essentially male environment. This “Race for Equity” banner was for me a way of highlighting an important and delicate subject that can and must be better considered. To give men and women equal chances to participate and win their race, whatever the circumstances.”
For L'Occitane en Provence, supporting female entrepreneurs and empowering women has long been a core value.
For over 30 years, the brand has supported female shea butter producers in Burkina Faso, providing healthcare, education, and training for young women.
L'Occitane en Provence CEO Adrien Geiger added, "At L'Occitane en Provence, we are proud to support Clarisse Crémer, a woman who is truly inspiring for future generations, and we are delighted to help her accomplish this extraordinary sporting and human challenge. Together, we have chosen to join forces to promote female leadership in sailing and to support all women who, through their personal and professional endeavors, are making a difference in the world."
