September 9th to October 6th, Museum-calibre CINDY CHAO The Art Jewel will present its “Meld in Light and Shade- Amour Butterfly Exhibition” at the Long Museum West Bund in Shangha, an exhibiton dedicated to a single work of art.
The “2023 Black Label Masterpiece I Amour Butterfly Brooch”, which is the tenth annual butterfly creation of the brand, took five years to complete, will make its public debut at this exhibition.
Meticulously crafted by a team of European master craftsmen who have dedicated over 15,000 hours of work to its creation, the “Amour Butterfly Brooch” features an overlapping, intertwined double butterfly with three-dimensional, fully stretched wings, integrating boundless imagination into natural life, and challenging the multiple transformations between light and shadow.
To plan the exhibition space and set design, Cindy Chao once again collaborated with renowned Dutch architect and sculptor Tom Postma, who serves as the Chief Exhibition Spatial Art Director. A top international team from Belgium, Singapore, the Netherlands, and Germany created the unique “levitating display case” with the longest floating path in the world.
According to resource, the “Amour Butterfly Brooch” will appear to float in mid-air as if magically suspended, dancing with the music, creating a surreal spectacle of the lightness of a butterfly in flight on the well-decorated site.
Focusing deeply on art itself, This exhibition provides the first public glimpse into the artist’s creative process, unveiling the true essence of “art jewel” to the world. Viewers can not only appreciate all the details of the front and back of the artwork but also experience its exquisite changes following visual and sensory perceptions. They can experience the brand and the artist’s avant-garde creativity, the pinnacle of craftsmanship, the revolutionary exploration of materials, and the essence of Cindy Chao’s creative journey.
