FENDI Casa has marked a significant expansion into China with the grand opening of its Shanghai flagship store on November 22. Celebrating the occasion, FENDI Casa unveiled the exclusive "Peekasit Shanghai Edition," attended by the CEOs of FF Design, Design Holding, and FENDI themselves. The event was a testament to the brand's strategic milestones, witnessed by a select gathering of esteemed guests.
Strategically situated at 1788 Square in Shanghai's bustling Jing'an District, the flagship spans 756 square meters and is the brainchild of FENDI's in-house architects and designers along with artistic directors Kim Jones, Silvia Venturini Fendi, and Delfina Delettrez Fendi. Following successful launches in Milan and Miami, the Shanghai store which opened its doors in July, represents the third pillar in FENDI Casa's global presence.
The store's exterior boasts an elegant design reminiscent of the Milan flagship, with a cloud-white logo set against a stark black, enhanced by expansive windows that foster a bright and welcoming shopping ambiance. Inside, Arabescato Vagli marble and a decor directed by Silvia Venturini Fendi harmonize the space with a thoughtful mix of shapes and materials, embodying the global FENDI ethos.
As a historic Italian luxury brand, FENDI began designing home furniture 30 years ago. In 2021, FENDI and Design Holding, the largest high-end design group in the world also from Italy, jointly established a joint venture, Fashion Furniture Design, or FF Design, embarking on a new journey for FENDI Casa.
Alberto Da Passano, CEO of FF Design, said: "Asia, especially China, has always been one of FENDI's most important creative hubs. The location of the boutique in one of Shanghai's most vibrant and avant-garde districts is both a challenge and an opportunity for us. Our goal is to create a space that not only showcases the brand's aesthetics but also embraces the brand's values, historical roots, and unique spirit, thereby consolidating and enhancing the brand's international competitiveness."
